Weathering the Storm with Pro’s Choice

Division 1 Sport Regional Sales Manager Jeremy Bohonko volunteered as part of the game day grounds crew for the historic MLB Speedway Classic 2025 at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee on Saturday, August 2, 2025. For the first time ever, Major League Baseball constructed a full-scale field inside a NASCAR venue, bringing the game to Tennessee in front of a record modern-era crowd of 91,032 fans. After heavy rain forced a postponement, play resumed the following day, with the Atlanta Braves defeating the Cincinnati Reds 4–2. Jeremy and the grounds crew worked tirelessly throughout the event to keep the field playable, as highlighted in this video.
During this historic event, our own Jeremy Bohonko and the dedicated grounds crew relied heavily on Pro’s Choice products to ensure the field remained playable throughout the weekend. For constructing the pitcher’s mound, bullpen mounds, batter’s boxes, and catcher’s box, they used Pro’s Choice Pro Mound premium packing clay. Meanwhile, Pro’s Choice Select Infield Conditioner played a crucial role in managing moisture, even after multiple heavy rain events.
Extreme weather conditions ultimately forced the grounds crew to tarp the field and postpone the game. However, with a lot of hard work and the right moisture management products (PC Select), they were able to successfully complete the game the following day. Our participation in this event was about much more than just showcasing our products’ exceptional performance. It was an incredible opportunity to demonstrate how our solutions perform under extreme conditions on one of the biggest stages in baseball.
Our involvement not only highlighted our commitment to providing the highest quality products in the industry but also enabled us to forge stronger partnerships with field managers and event organizers for future opportunities.
